Terrance PoggeKane County ARES will be conducting an exercise to drill our ability to assist emergency communications and to provide real-time weather information as SKYWARN storm spotters.
The exercise will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 28th, 2026 and will kick off Illinois Severe Weather Preparedness Week (March 2nd, through March 6th, 2026).
The exercise is open to all licensed amateur radio operators (operators participating in a spotter role need to have completed the National Weather Service severe storm spotter training within the last two years).
